Commerzbank Lists Two Funds On China Europe International Exchange

has listed two exchange-traded funds on the new China Europe International Exchange (CEINEX) in partnership with BOC International and China Construction Bank International. The CEINEX, a joint venture of Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE), Deutsche Börse and China Financial Futures Exchange, was launched yesterday in Frankfurt and the two new ETFs will provide access to onshore renminbi investments. The German bank has launched and listed the Bank of China International (BOCI) Commerzbank – Shanghai Stock Exchange 50 A Share Index UCITS ETF. Advised by BOCI-Prudential Asset Management, the fund is available to institutional and retail investors in Luxembourg and Germany. The Commerzbank CCBI RQFII Money Market UCITS ETF has also been cross listed in partnership with China Construction Bank International, the asset management arm of which will lead the investment management of the fund. The ETF, which was first launched on the London Stock Exchange in March this year, is available to investors in the UK, Germany, France and Luxembourg. “As the onshore Chinese markets are opening up to international investors, the market will continue to need investment solutions across a variety of asset classes. By launching these products now Commerzbank and its partners are keeping up to date with their clients' requirements,” said Thomas Timmermann, chief executive of asset management at Commerzbank Corporates & Markets. “These ETFs provide offshore investors the opportunity to invest in the mainland Chinese securities markets, via a listed and regulated European product.” Commerzbank's equity markets and commodities division will provide the market making for both funds.
